Passage: Luke 18:9–14
Service Type:

Gospel: Luke 18:9–149 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down oneverybody else, Jesus told this parable:10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other atax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: ‘God, Ithank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—oreven like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up toheaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’14 Jesus Said, “I tell you that this tax collector, rather than the man, went homejustified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, andhe who humbles himself will be exalted.”This is the Gospel of our Lord.Praise be to you, O Christ!
